The Challenge

Encouraged by HwCg, four quality Burgundy producers came together to look for new ways to approach the UK market. They called themselves Blasons.

They faced a declining market for French wines, as the traditional French regions like Burgundy were losing out to Australian and other New World producers.

Research revealed a tough and challenging future for Burgundy. Many consumers found Burgundy wines difficult to understand, the packaging and names confusing and many also found the wine quality and styles inconsistent.
