They set about creating a strong brand for Burgundy that made the most of the French heritage and the image of Burgundy. The packaging design made use of the Burgundy name on every wine while using colour and price banding to clearly indicate quality levels. This allowed customers who identified with the brand to trade up easily from bronze to silver and gold. The branding, the colours and the price positioning all work together to make the wines clear and simple for customers to understand, while still communicating the traditions of Burgundy.
Fundamental to the whole project was to deliver authentic, consistent and excellent wine at each quality level with HwCg’s resident Master of Wine & Burgundy expert working with the winemakers to ensure that only the finest wines made the grade.
The name of this brand is Blason de Bourgogne.
