HwCg formed

• Hedley Wright and Castle Growers were two leading suppliers to the trade and both had complementary portfolios of high quality, well respected suppliers
• Castle Growers had a history of long term supply to the Multiple Grocers, whilst Hedley Wright had a well respected name within the Independent trade
• The two companies merged in July 1999 and moved in to their new offices at Thremhall a year later

HwCg undergo structural review

• As part of the merger, HwCg underwent a structural review.
• The company was operating in a classic Agency way, supplying great wines but lacking the necessary customer and market focus.
• After extensive independent customer research the company was restructured to enable the company to meet the changing needs of both customers and suppliers
